Impact on Social Relationships...

Wow looking into social media is like opening a can of worms. Is there even an end to the personal, national or global impact of social media? Even the fact that I post this on the blog screams of the impact that this phenomenon has created!!

Here is a video that Lucas shared with me. A real eye-opener...

Please  comment your thoughts on the video. Do you agree? Why/why not? What are the most improtant social impacts from social media?

  1. This video is very inspiring with lots of points in it that are very true, I totally agree with this video and think that the world really is starting to revolve around social media. There are much more important things in life than your phone and family's are starting to loose connection with each other, slowly drift apart as the world gets pulled further and further towards social media. I think what people don't realise is what social media could potentially do to us in the future. I think that everyone needs to take a break from social media turn of there I-pad, I-pod, phone and just relax and enjoy the wonderful world that we live in.

  3. It's funny to think that if you just looked up from your phone for just a few seconds your life could have changed.-Sophie

  5. I totally agree with Gary.
People are ever so slightly becoming less and less social, what they call this "social media" is like what he said, anything but social. Some of us are becoming more and more isolated, I too, spend time on my Xbox on perfect summers days, when i could be doing something productive.

  8. We don't know the future. We know if we keep living like this then the Earth will be destroyed but We can start making simple changes to save the Earth and make our lives better.

  9. I agree if we just look down at a screen for hours we miss what the world has to offer. No we can't change the world all at once but we can make small changes for the better.

  10. It is very obvious that we miss a lot of our lives by looking down at a screen. There is a lot of precious time that we are wasting that we could spend with family or friends. Just only if we looked up!

  11. With all due respects I disagree with Tess. Yes the world is starting to revolve around social media but I don't think families are loosing connection. Personally I keep in touch with my 2 sisters in Wellington and Palmerston North via instagram and my Dad through Face Time. But thats my opinion.

People ever so slightly are becoming anti social and they are calling social media "" social"" but they aren't calling it what it is an anti social network but i do use social media quite a bit to even though I say it isn't the best for us.
